Excursion to Blankenese. Then still a fishing village, today a noble quarter with
villas, parks and beach life. Precise note of directions from Blankenese station down to the pier "Op'n Bulln" and further on to the so-called Treppenviertel (stairs-quarter) up to the lighthouse.
Return via Elbkurhaus (Elbe Spa Hotel) along the beach, then up the steep steps
to the Hirschpark (Deer Park), eastward along Elbchaussee, first Nienstedten,
Restaurant Jacob. Then past Jenischpark via Övelgönne to Altona town hall.

Vorortsbahn from Dammtorbhf to Blankenese… down Bhfstr. past Baurspark to shore... up Hans Lange Strasse to Bismarckstein Park. Bonfire. Climb Aussichtsturm - a terrific view - All very dim & van Goyen. Memorised images all find themselves in reality. Look out across wide grey water to Altes Land. Shadows of the far bank in water. Sunless radiance. The absurd beauty of being alone.
